Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – Downtown Financial District / Remote)
Employment Type: Full-time
Department: Commercial Sales
Target Compensation: $60,000 – $70,000 CAD base + uncapped OTE ($85,000 – $100,000+ total target earnings)
About the Role
As a Business Development Representative (BDR) on the Toronto Commercial Sales team, you will drive top-of-funnel pipeline growth across the Canadian mid-market and enterprise landscape. You will partner directly with Account Executives and Solution Architects to identify, research, and engage key IT and business decision-makers (CTOs, CIOs, CISOs, VP/Directors of IT, and Heads of Infrastructure).
Your focus is on introducing organizations to modern hybrid cloud architectures, next-generation cybersecurity postures, managed IT services, and digital workplace solutions. This role is a fast-track pathway into Senior BDR, Account Executive, or Technical Sales Specialist roles.
Core Responsibilities
Outbound Pipeline Generation: Execute multi-channel outreach campaigns (personalized cold email, phone calls, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and video messaging) to engage C-level executives and senior IT leadership across Canada.
Inbound Qualification: Rapidly follow up on inbound inquiries, marketing leads, webinars, vendor partner referrals (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, Cisco, CrowdStrike), and event attendees.
Consultative Discovery: Conduct structured discovery conversations to diagnose business challenges, legacy infrastructure bottlenecks, compliance requirements, and cloud migration timelines.
Sales Pipeline Collaboration: Partner with assigned Enterprise and Mid-Market Account Executives to territory-map Tier 1 accounts and orchestrate targeted Account-Based Marketing (ABM) campaigns.
Opportunity Handoff: Secure qualified introductory meetings and discovery calls, ensuring detailed handoffs and documentation in Salesforce.
CRM Hygiene & Tracking: Maintain real-time data integrity in Salesforce, Salesloft/Outreach, and ZoomInfo, tracking touchpoints, conversion rates, and account intelligence.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 1–3 years of outbound B2B sales or business development experience, ideally within enterprise software (SaaS), IT managed services (MSP), cloud, cybersecurity, or IT hardware/infrastructure distribution.
Domain Fluency: Foundational understanding of enterprise IT concepts (e.g., public vs. hybrid cloud, Microsoft 365 licensing, endpoint security, backup/disaster recovery, network infrastructure).
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills; ability to engage senior technical and non-technical stakeholders with poise and business acumen.
Sales Tech Stack: Practical experience navigating tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Salesloft, Outreach, ZoomInfo, Cognism, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
Work Ethic & Curiosity: High degree of resilience, self-motivation, time management, and curiosity regarding emerging IT and cybersecurity trends.
Location: Based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) with the ability to work out of the Toronto office 2 days per week for team collaboration and sales coaching.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset for national coverage across Quebec and Eastern Canada.
Prior experience working within a technology reseller, systems integrator, value-added reseller (VAR), or managed service provider (MSP) environment.
Completed formal sales methodology training (e.g., MEDDIC, Command of the Message, Sandler, or Challenger).
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 CAD base salary depending on experience.
Incentive Plan: Uncapped monthly commission structure tied to qualified discovery meetings and sourced pipeline revenue.
Health & Wellness: Comprehensive group benefits package starting Day 1 (extended health, dental, vision, life insurance, and employee assistance program).
Retirement: Group RRSP matching program up to 4%.
Professional Development: Annual learning stipend for sales accreditations, vendor partner certifications (AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Fundamentals), and technical sales training.
Time Off: 3 weeks of paid vacation, plus year-end holiday shutdown and personal wellness days.
Commuting: Transit-accessible office located near Union Station with commuter subsidy benefits.

02
Talk with Jo

Get matched directly
The hiring manager sees what you actually said and did, not a keyword score. Your evidence does the talking.
