Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Platform team. In this role, you will design, build, and scale the foundational backend services and developer tooling that power our global consumer-facing products. You will tackle problems around high-throughput distributed systems, real-time data ingestion, and cloud-native infrastructure reliability. What You'll Do Architecture & Development: Architect, implement, and maintain resilient, low-latency microservices and APIs handling millions of daily active requests. System Scalability: Identify performance bottlenecks, optimize database queries, and improve end-to-end latency across distributed cloud environments (AWS/GCP). Technical Leadership: Lead technical design discussions, write architecture RFCs, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers through detailed code reviews. Reliability & Observability: Partner with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to implement robust distributed tracing, metrics, automated alerting, and incident-response runbooks. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management, Security, and Frontend teams to translate product requirements into reliable engineering deliverables. Qualifications Required Experience: 5+ years of production experience building and maintaining scalable backend or distributed systems. Languages: Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend language (e.g., Go, Rust, Java, Python, or TypeScript/Node.js). Distributed Systems: Hands-on experience with distributed architectures, message brokers/event streaming (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ), and caching strategies (e.g., Redis). Databases: Deep understanding of data modeling, indexing, and query tuning in both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, Cassandra) stores. Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Engineering Standards: Proven track record with automated testing (unit, integration, load), CI/CD pipelines, and secure coding practices. Nice-to-Have Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi). Experience with high-throughput stream processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Flink, Spark Streaming). Contributions to open-source software or technical publications/conference talks.
