These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Jo platform operated by Jo Inc. ("Jo", "we", "us", or "our"), a corporation incorporated in Ontario, Canada. By creating an account or using the Jo service (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
Jo is an AI-powered hiring platform. We use voice-led profiling and a multi-stage matching process to surface candidates to employers. We do not guarantee job placement, employment, or any specific matching outcome. We are not a recruitment agency, staffing firm, or employment service as defined by applicable employment law.
You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you become aware of any unauthorised access to your account.
You agree that:
Violation of any of the above will result in immediate permanent suspension of your account without refund or recourse.
You acknowledge that Jo uses automated algorithms to screen profiles against criteria set by employers. If your profile does not satisfy an employer's mandatory criteria ("knockout criteria"), you may be automatically excluded from consideration for a role without human review. This does not prevent you from applying for other roles on the platform. If you believe a technical error has affected an automated screening outcome, you may request a manual review by contacting us at [email protected].
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." JO INC. MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY MATCHING, SCREENING, OR AI-GENERATED INSIGHTS WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. JO INC. DOES NOT WARRANT OR GUARANTEE THAT USE OF THE SERVICE WILL RESULT IN EMPLOYMENT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, JO INC. WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. JO INC.'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF CAD $100 OR THE AMOUNTS YOU HAVE PAID TO JO INC. IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Jo Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party rights.
Jo Inc. may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Termination does not affect any rights or obligations accrued prior to termination.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide notice of material changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
